Meet Our New Teacher Tracey Oakes
I'm a yoga teacher; the newest addition to The Hot Yoga Studio and it feels like I've arrived home. 2017 has been an amazing year in many ways, it has allowed me to switch careers, complete my Yoga Teacher Training in Liverpool and make a fresh start.
When I re-discovered yoga several years ago, it allowed me to rehabilitate my body after having spinal surgery in 2015. Week by week I saw steady progress in re-gaining my flexibility and strength, and most importantly I began to feel happy again. I had had a long career as a dance teacher and felt pretty low when injury struck. The 60 minutes that I spent in my yoga class was the only time that my mind felt settled and I could switch off the stress. Finding hot yoga was a real revolution, the heat felt as though it was working magic on my tight muscles and providing much needed warmth on my skin, which is always a bonus when you live in Lancashire!
Fast Forward to November 2017 and I struggle to believe how blessed I am to spend time on my mat with you wonderful souls at Trybe. I love the enthusiasm and effort that you bring to each class; it lights up my day and always leaves me feeling grateful. I love chatting to you as you arrive at the studio and guiding you through your practice with every bit of knowledge and insight that I can possibly bring. You see I want you to love yoga as much as I do. I want it to heal your heart when it's heavy, energise you when you're running on low, soothe your aches and pains, strengthen your muscles and nourish your soul.
Each and every class is special to me. Yoga gave me my life back and if you're reading this then there's a fairly good chance that you are part of the process. So from the bottom of my heart I'd like to say thank you, and to tell you that the light in me, most certainly bows to honour the light in you.
Namaste, Tracey xx
